OUR MISSION:

ACDC is a research and education nonprofit that addresses the data gaps in areas of civic and community significance. We want to equip policymakers and stakeholders with clear, understandable data that helps them assess policy impacts on intended beneficiaries.



OUR TEAM:

Amanda Masino

Executive Director

Associate Professor of Biology and Director of the STEM Research Scholars Program at Huston-Tillotson University. As part of her work with HT’s Center for Sustainability and Environmental Justice, Amanda researches microbial genetics, air quality, and the connections between place and health. Her interest in affordability is connected to this work – housing choice impacts health and lifespan. She also serves on the City’s Zero Waste Advisory Commission.

Alexis Taylor

Director of Operations

Global Shapers Curator; Alexis Taylor is the CEO of 3 Day Startup and oversees the development and expansion of entrepreneurship education programs for communities around the world. As a part of this project, Alexis will assist the team in managing community relations and engagement and finding new opportunities to expand this audit’s impact.

Leon Vanstone

Data Guy

Global Shaper, Science Communicator and Research Associate with the University of Texas at Austin. Leon researches physics and controls of shock dominated flows for UT Austin. However, Leon has always had a keen interest in his community – either communicating science to the public or investigating socio-economic trends. His strong interest in the community and his data driven background drew him to the Global Shapers and the original study.
